 WARNING: A heavy conflict is going on in Deep Southern Thailand (Narathiwat Province, Pattani Province and Yala Province) between Muslim separatists and the Thai government. Since the start of the conflict in 2004, there have been about 3000 fatalities. Travelling to this region is dangerous and strongly discouraged. If it is necessary to visit, inform your embassy, remain cautious at all times and avoid public gatherings. |
